Merry Christmas!

Everyone knows that Christmas is a time to spend with family.

dsc_1090.jpg

But when momi, dadi and sis are located on the other side of the world I am lucky to have a Taipei family as well. This year I will celebrate Christmas together with Patricia, James and Sara.
I have been looking forward to have pickled herring on the table but unfortunately IKEA were out of stock. Instead we got ourselves a “pepparkakshus” (gingerbread house) which we happily took home, put together and decorated. We even put a little snow man next to the house, very cute. What we did not think about (and probably neither did the IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad) was that gingerbread houses are somewhat sensitive to humidity. So, within 24 hours our nice little gingerbread house gave in and collapsed.

But instead of being sad about the ginger bread house we are happy about our nice little Christmas tree which looks very pretty and will probably never give in since its all made of plastic.

The Christmas menu this year is smorgasbord styled and Pana-Swed-American inspired, and it will be a feast. It includes:

Cold cuts: Gravlax (Marinated salmon), Gubbrora (”Old-man-mix”), Xmas cod-roe eggs

Main courses: Carrot’n'cabbage salad, Panamanian Christmas ham, Swedish meatballs, varmkorv (sausage), salami, Potatoe salad.

Desserts: Tiramisu, “James surprise”

Drinks: Mimosas, Bubble bobble
Merry Christmas!

Additional xmas pictures can be found here.

(To Nathan: too bad you are not here, we miss feeding you, and btw, your room is still prepared for your return ;) )

HI! EBBE! (And patricia… i’ll write to you to if you have a website!)

Seems i’m a little late at viewing your website. But thank you for keeping my room ready for me!

I also think it sounds like you are back in Sweeden according to your latest entry! A pity about your gingerbread house! But it still looks fantastic!

So what are you guys doing now? Where is Patricia? Hope you guys are doing well! I Miss those fantastic meals and sitting round watching TV and eating strange-ish pizza and coke with ice(Oh yeah, it’s excellent!!) I’m enjoying being home, but still missing a little of Taiwan everyday! But it’s not to far for me to travel back! And i know i’ll be back there one day!

Can’t wait to cross paths again one day! Hopefully sooner than later!

    Keep in Touch.

Next time i’ll try and reply in sweedish too!

    Nathan!

    Hi Nathan!
    Good to hear from you!
Its true im back in the country of polar bears, penguins and vikings. I had to return to defend my thesis but if everything goes as planned ill be back in taiwan soon.

The room will always be there for you when you need somewhere to crash because of late mahjong or movie nights.. you know that!

    Hey Nathan,
Since I know myself, and I know I will probably never have a website I might as well steal Ebbe’s and pretend its mine. Glad to hear that you are doing ok, believe me since you happen to live in SYDNEY I am sure I will make our paths cross sometime or the other, I am dying to go back there. Hopefully Ebbe will be back in Taiwan soon, but now I am going back home!! Feb.22 I will go to L.A to spend a coupleof weeks with my best friend and then back to warm, tropical, breeze, best place in the world….Panama. You have a room over there too whenever you wanna come… For now I will send you pictures. Or, what the hell! I will post the pictures here and change Ebbe’s info for something that includes me…:P!
